A stock car racing event planned for 2020 at the Milwaukee Mile
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) – Officials at Wisconsin State Fair Park and Track Enterprises have announced that stock car racing will return on Sunday, June 14 for a second annual event.
Last year, four racing divisions put on a big show for a large group of racing fans, according to a news release. Over 100 drivers were on course for the 2019 race, with Austin Nason beating a field of nearly 40 Super Late Models in the showpiece event.
“It was a huge win for us last year, being the first race there for many years. I’m really looking forward to going back, as it’s a very fast track and close to home,” said Nason, last year’s winner.
The release says ARCA Midwest Tour Super Late Models will headline the show again in 2020 with a 100-lap event. They will be joined by Midwest Trucks, Mid-American Stock Cars and Upper Midwest Vintage Series.
A day of practice is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 with final practice, qualifying, preliminary heats and star races starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, with the main events to follow. There will also be a street drag event on Saturday night after open workouts are over.
The track is located at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.
Pre-sale tickets will be available in the coming days, online, at the box office and by phone. Those with campsites at the 2019 event are encouraged to call the Track Enterprises office and reserve their spot for this year’s event.
