Fireworks and auto racing are two things that go well together but can always go wrong. This is exactly what happened during a motor race in the UK. The combination did not go well as the spectators expected.

(Read also: The car company ordered to pay ??Compensation of 5 lakh after the fire of the vehicle)

Video of the incident has emerged online showing how a truck standing next to the race track during the event caught fire. According to a Daily Mail report, the truck was filled with firecrackers which were to be presented at the event.

This was apparently part of a special festival that included fireworks and firecracker races. As the fireworks were going off, one apparently landed in the back of the truck which was filled with unlit fireworks. Right after that, the fireworks stored in the rear of the vehicle caught fire and the vehicle caught fire, setting off the fireworks at random. As there were random explosions and a barrage of exploding shells in the sky, crews brought the blaze under control.

Later, firefighters arrived at the scene, which suggested that there was no fire truck already on standby during the occurrence. The report claims that several fireworks were launched at random and blown into the crowd before one landed in the truck. Some of them are said to have hit people.

It is certainly a bad idea to have an open bed truck full of fireworks near the exhibit, let alone the exhibit center. The report also claims that the race would have started while the truck was still smoking. However, there is no news of any injuries from the incident.

Homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding a double shooting in Compton that occurred in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday.

The shooting was reported just before 1 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Bullis Road in Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

When MPs responded, they found two men who had been shot inside a car. Both had gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The two victims, who authorities described as being in their 20s, died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that before the fatal shooting, there had been a large illegal street race near the location.

MPs believe the incidents are linked and neighbors are unhappy with loud gatherings.

Diane Blackshire called street racing “crazy”.

“It’s dangerous. It’s not something to do in the middle of town,” Blackshire said.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the LASD Homicide Office at 323-890-5500.

A mom who took her boys to the event shared how they begged to come home, after the cars got stuck in the mud and they were left sitting in the cold and bored in the overcrowded stadium

Stockcars desperately try to make their way through the mud at Odsal Top

A racing event and fireworks display were called a “disaster” by participants after the cars got stuck in the mud and the fireworks failed to impress.

Hannah, a 30-year-old mother of two, took her boys to the stock car race night, promising them it would be a night to remember.

But she has now recounted how they begged to return home, after the cars got stuck in the mud and were left sitting out in the cold and bored in the crowded stadium while waiting for the fun to continue. .

Hannah, from Brighouse in West Yorks, spent £ 36 on tickets for herself, her children and her mother at the event at Odsal Top on Saturday night.

She said Yorkshire Live there must have been “about 5,000 people with a lot of disappointed children.”

“I had told my eight and two year old sons about it, telling them how good it was going to be, but all they were asking me was when could they come home,” a- she declared.

“It was supposed to be stock car races, banger races, monster trucks and £ 10,000 of fireworks.

“This whole thing from start to finish was a disaster and should have ended much sooner than it was.

“It started at 4:30 pm and ended at 8:30 pm and most of the time we were just sitting cold and bored waiting for the tractors to pull the cars off the track because it was a mud bath.

“There were four races that took a little while because of all the cars stuck in the mud, then an hour of waiting for the tractors to get them all off the track between each race.

“The monster truck was canceled for health and safety reasons, which I cannot understand even though it is much bigger than the tractors which go perfectly well on the track.

“The kids were bored because there was nothing to keep them entertained. Rather than putting two more races on the fireworks, it should have been done early and the event ended early.

“Forty-five minutes before the end, three-quarters of those present were gone – that’s how bad it was.

“We spoke to a few flight attendants who all agreed what a mess this was and that the event should have been over sooner.

“We waited until the end because after sitting in the cold for hours without entertainment, we figured we might as well see the fireworks.”

But the family ended up wishing they had gone to a standard bonfire, in which Hannah said the fireworks would have been just as good.

“We were completely disappointed with it all and felt it was a waste of money, especially for the price we paid,” she said. “I’m pretty sure everyone else in the room would agree, which was a clear indication of how many people left early.”

Hannah said the “poor stewards” were abused by participants unhappy with their experience, which she said was “also unfair”.

And another man wrote on the Startrax Stockcar Racing Facebook page: “Last night was horrible, poorly organized, half of the event didn’t even take place, no monster trucks as advertised, the” fire d ‘Spectacular £ 10,000 firework’ was far from it, the staff were rude and swearing in front of the children, but yet to see a race take place.

“The commentator has done his best to generate excitement in the face of what can only be considered a disaster, but the odds were stacked against him. A waste of time and money.”

And one woman wrote: “My family goes to watch the races here a lot and it’s amazing! Tonight was appalling. Complete discomfort for the sport.

“Poor kids are emptied. No monster trucks and not a lot of shopping. I feel sorry for the drivers too. The attitude of the staff / stewards was beyond ignorance and rudeness. Nowhere to be. hold, the younger ones could not see. A refund is absolutely necessary! “

Startrax Stockcar race director Steve apologized on the event’s Facebook page, saying the company had apologized “wholeheartedly.”

“Let us assure you that we have been involved in Motorsport and Odsal for 27 years and indeed promoted at Odsal until it closed in 1997,” he said.

“We have also invested heavily in his return for 2021. He has hosted 11 successful events in 2021 so far, including the World Stock Car Finals just last month.

“We care passionately about what we do and believe us we are devastated and we apologize for the weather and we had invested a lot to put on a great show.”

“It was deemed dangerous for the health and safety of Monster Trucks to participate, which we announced but only announced part of the show.

“I’m not apologizing, it was not a pleasant night with time for your family or for ourselves and we apologize to your family and friends.”

In a second post on his Facebook page, he wrote that the evening “will haunt me like a bad memory of retirement”, and he strongly denied that his company was looking to make a quick buck, saying its reputation was extremely important to them.

Anyone wishing for a refund should contact the company directly.

The Texas Mile is a racing event held in Beeville that allows amateurs and professionals to test their vehicles in a speed race.

BEEVILLE, Texas – Some of the fastest cars, trucks and motorcycles in the country are in Beeville this weekend. They all participate in the Texas Mile which allows professional and amateur drivers to test their skills and that of their vehicle.

Because as far as the eye could see, there were all kinds of RVs, trailers and racing cars lined up at Chase Field in Beeville.

Amateur and professional runners from across the country come to test their skills. Hoping their engine can push them up to 200mph or more. They do it on an old one-and-a-half-mile track at a former Navy training base.

Avid driver John Cross came from Kansas to test his 2016 Challenger Hellcat. Over the years, Cross has modified his car. Although he looks like a professional racing driver, Cross is actually a full-time preacher.

“I knew if God was going to bless me with this and I was going to have fun with it,” Cross said. “I needed to name people for him so it’s more of a hobby.”

Beeville town officials were excited about the three-day event which is now back after being moved to Victoria. Bee Area Partnership President and CEO Randy Seitz said the event not only attracts spectators, but also generates significant revenue.

“It generates roughly $ 2 million that it is putting back into our economy because of this event here in our community,” Seitz said.

Even Beeville City Manager John Benson understands how beneficial the event is to the community.

“A very unique opportunity and event to be had here and another way to generate business for the community,” said Benson.

Texas Mile organizers have said they are not going anywhere in the future and plan to make Beeville the permanent home of the three-day race.

The city is considering repaving the old naval runway at a cost of $ 2 million. In the meantime, the Texas Mile organization will be able to use another track here in much better condition.

Texas Mile co-owner Shannon Matus said the new trail will help with planning for future events.

“With the use of the new track, we will be able to expand and host additional events. We will be hosting a half-mile event here, as well as a Texas Mile,” said Matus.

Residents of Beeville might agree that the Texas Mile was a Halloween treat wrapped in more power than most people could handle.

The University of Hawaii made history by participating in the Indy Autonomous Challenge competition — the very first autonomous racing car event. The team, EUH AI Racing technology, reached his fastest speed and placed 6th in the competition.

TUM Autonomous Motorsport of Germany won the final shootout and $ 1 million. Nine teams representing 21 universities from nine countries qualified for the competition on October 23 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500.

“On race day we pushed our car, our code and ourselves to the limits, hitting 115 miles an hour, the fastest our car has ever driven and under 25 miles an hour. hour of winning speeds, “said Chris Battista, EUH AI Member of the Racing Tech team and former EUH Scientific researcher in Manoa. “It was a crazy race as we got together as a team last week and made the final changes and improvements needed for the race. While we’re all saddened by the car’s spin-out, it was caused by hardware issues beyond our control, and we have high hopes for the next run.

Battista added: “I am extremely proud of everything we have learned and what the team has accomplished, and I can’t wait to see AI Racing Tech is back on the track and faster than ever over the next year.

Generator AI to perform high speeds, tactical decisions

car on a race track

The Indy Autonomous Challenge is similar to other motor racing competitions, minus the need for someone behind the wheel. The driver is replaced by a variety of sensors that act as the vehicle’s eyes and ears, and a powerful computer to make the many route planning, tactical and strategic decisions necessary to deliver maximum vehicle performance. The system is an example of artificial intelligence, which forces engineers to create algorithms to program the car to generate human behaviors and interpret complex sensor data.

EUH AI Racing Tech was created thanks to a EUH Maui College course in spring 2020 on autonomous vehicle technology. Gary Passon, the course instructor, partnered with EUH by Manoa College of Engineering to provide additional expertise and give students a hands-on learning experience.
