Motorsport Racer Kasey Ramoutar – via Kasey Ramoutar

LOCAL motorsport racer Kasey Ramoutar will be cleared to compete in Sunday’s TT Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) Championship event at Wallerfield International Raceway after securing a late-night injunction on Friday.

Ramoutar, a motorsports racer and photographer, has taken TTASA to court over his suspension by the local motorsports body on June 6, claiming he was not given an opportunity to be heard.

He complained that the suspension would ban him from participating in all TTASA events.

Ramoutar served on TTASA’s executive committee from 2018 to March 2022, but was accused by the association’s president of recording committee minutes at a May 12 meeting.

He questioned the president and then lodged a complaint with the association. Ramoutar received a warning letter and was subsequently suspended. The warning letter reportedly reprimanded Ramoutar but said it did not include suspension from participation in events.

On June 6, he received a suspension letter from TTASA President Fyzool Madan accusing him of “degrees of misconduct”, also banning him from all TTASA competitions and activities, including those of affiliates.

His request states that the effect of this suspension will prevent him from competing in events, including Sunday’s No. 3 championship event at Wallerfield International Raceway and all those organized by the TT Karting Association.

Just before midnight on Friday, Judge Frank Seepersad granted the interim injunction which restored all of Ramoutar’s rights in the TTASA until a further hearing of the application to continue the order and which will allow him to run on Sunday during the championship event.

The judge also ordered that Ramoutar’s results and use of the scores beyond Sunday’s event be contingent on determining the issue of the validity of his membership in the association.

Any cash prizes or trophies he may win in Sunday’s event will be held by TTASA until his membership status is settled.

Madan, TTASA Vice President Roger Hutcheon, Contest Chair Devendra Nath, and Member Representatives Ronnie Ramdeo and Ryan Peyaru have been named as TTASA’s intended defendants.

Ramoutar said his running career has allowed him to pursue his passion and have key sponsors.

“My position is that I have been wrongfully and illegally suspended from the association.

“The final decisions were made against me, against the spirit of the TTASA constitution, and in any event in the absence of natural justice and due process.

“I vehemently oppose and contest what purports to be final rulings against me that resulted in an unwarranted and unlawful suspension.”

He said being banned from Sunday’s championship would have deprived him of an opportunity to challenge for the next international championships.

“Participating in such a championship is one of my passions and I have exhausted every effort and resource to ensure my success in this championship which would further strengthen my brand, add to my credit as an established rider and I say that such deprivation would lead to serious injury to me and for which further damages cannot be a remedy.

He also said his relationship with his paid sponsors was also likely to be damaged if he couldn’t race on Sunday.

Ramoutar is represented by lawyers Kiel Taklalsingh, Vivek Lakhan-Joseph and Johathan Stevenson.

Things look very different around the entry points to the World Wide Technology Raceway complex in Madison. A ton of work has gone into addressing any potential traffic issues related to this upcoming weekend’s first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race at the track.

The Illinois Department of Transportation worked with track officials and Illinois State Police prior to the big event.

IDOT Operations Engineer Joe Monroe tells longtime Big Z-area racing fans that they can expect to encounter traffic and parking changes.

Monroe says public transportation is an option for spectators coming to see the Enjoy Illinois 300 and associated events. A free shuttle will be provided from the Emerson Park Metrolink station in East St. Louis. The nearby Gateway National Golf Course in Madison will serve as the starting and ending point for rideshare services over the weekend.

Instructions on the best route to approach the track for each car park are posted on https://wwtraceway.com/ and the information has been shared with several mapping apps to help guide drivers.

IDOT will post necessary traffic updates on its Twitter page: @IDOTDistrict8.

Five crew members were injured in a drag racing accident at a Sydney circuit yesterday.

Paramedics were called to Sydney Dragway at around 5.15pm yesterday to what a witness described as a fire involving a car engine, a New South Wales Ambulance spokesman said at 9News.com.au.

Top Fuel Australia has confirmed there was a ‘start line incident’ involving the Jim Read Racing team during today’s Nitro Champs at the Eastern Creek venue.

WARNING: This article contains an image below which may be distressing

Sydney Dragway’s live broadcast of the event appeared to show an explosion in the rear of driver Phil Read’s car as it lined up at the start line.

Officials rushed to help someone seen lying on the ground immediately after the detonation.

Host Chad Neylon, who was just yards from the car during the upcoming race preview, said there appeared to have been a “starting line issue here when they went clean the engine”.

“I can tell you the crew here right now is treating two crew members (from) Jim Read Racing,” he said on the telecast.

“… There’s a bit of a shock here at the moment. Not what we expected and not what we wanted to see here for the second run of the race.”

The ambulance spokesman said four people were taken to hospital, including a man believed to be in his 20s, who had severe burns at Westmead Hospital.

In a Facebook post, Jim Read Racing said four of the five crew members were discharged from hospital.

“Four crew members have been released from hospital and a fifth crew member requires further care and is expected to make a full recovery,” the message read.

Top Fuel Australia has asked fans to “send love and attention” to the affected team.

“A thorough investigation is underway with IHRA Australia, Sydney Dragway’s sanctioning body,” the organization said at around 8:15 p.m., on Facebook.

“In light of this, Top Fuel will have no further comment at this time other than to say our thoughts are with the team members involved and they are all in safe hands.”

A man is said to have been fighting for his life after a vehicle exploded during a drag race in Sydney over the weekend.

A man is said to have been fighting for his life following a ‘terrifying’ explosion at the start line of a hot rod event in Sydney.

Dramatic video from the edge of the track showed a fireball coming out of a car surrounded by people with an injured man lying on the asphalt.

Paramedics were called to the Sydney Dragway at Eastern Creek in the west of the city at 5.15pm on Saturday night following the incident.

News.com.au understands that multiple ambulance teams responded, including two specialist medical teams who responded by road.

A man believed to be in his 20s was taken to Westmead Hospital with severe burns from the blast.

Meanwhile, three other patients of unknown ages were taken to Westmead, Royal North Shore Hospital and Concord Hospital in stable conditions.

A video from the event clearly showed the horror event taking place at Australia’s Top Fuel Championship, a new top-tier drag racing tournament that took place over two days.

As a commentator recounts the day’s action, an explosion occurs in one of the vehicles behind him, seemingly without warning.

At the time, there appeared to be at least nine people near the race car, which was part of the Jim Read racing team.

The presenter instinctively leaned in the middle of the broadcast and simply said “whoa” as the fireball burst. Screams could be heard from the grandstand.

When the camera returned to the car, a man in a yellow vest could be seen lying on the ground as people rushed to help him.

On Facebook later Saturday, Sydney Dragway posted a comment about the event.

“Earlier today there was an incident at the start line involving one of the competing teams,” he said.

“A full investigation is underway into the cause of the incident in question in conjunction with Australian Championship organizers Top Fuel and Sydney Dragway’s sanctioning body, International Hot Rod Association Australia.

“Our hearts go out to the team members involved and we hope to see them back on the circuit soon.”

Commenting on social media, one person said it was “strong, like a grenade”.

“I was 50 meters away and the concussion shook me”.

Others said it was a “massive explosion” and “terrifying”.

“I was behind the barrier, next to it,” said onlooker Di.

“It happened so fast and we felt the heat.”

A host of famous faces stepped out in style at the Punchestown Festival 2022 as punters flock to the famous event.

The Festival, which takes place at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co. Kildare, is back for the first time since 2019 after the 2020 and 2021 Festivals were postponed due to the pandemic.

Taking place from Tuesday 26th to Saturday 30th April 2022, the Punchestown Festival is officially back in full force as up to 15,000 people attended the races on Tuesday with more expected to visit in the coming days.

Some of Ireland’s most stylish celebrities showed up at the races on Wednesday, including Ronan Keating’s ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, who had longtime boyfriend John Conroy by her side all day.

Yvonne (48) stunned in a pink trench coat over a black dress paired with a black clutch and matching black headband while her blonde locks were pinned up in a bun.

Meanwhile, retired National Hunt jockey and 2022 Dancing With The Stars winner Nina Carberry rocked white dress pants and a mint green blazer for the occasion.

She said it was “although the mood is back” at the races and after the success of the Fairyhouse festival she was looking forward to seeing how the week goes in Punchestown.

On recent rumors that her professional dance partner Pasquale la Rocca is lined up for the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing to replace Aljaz Skorjanec, she revealed he had texted her about the speculation saying that he didn’t know what was going on.

“He said, ‘Thank you, partner. This morning, it’s all over the papers, who knows.

She said she would love to see him on the hit BBC show.

“I would love to. Of course I would. I would say, ‘I danced with him.’ ”

Nina and Pasquale received the Glitterball Trophy after winning the 2022 series of Dancing With The Stars last month.

The couple, who were bookmakers’ favorites to win, walked away with the top prize after a public vote and beat singer Erica Cody, rugby 7s star Jordan Conroy and Paralympian Ellen Keane for first place.

A 45-year-old man was gored to death during a bullfight staged with permits, but unsupervised by authorities, at Old Pet in Krishnagiri on Monday.

The victim, Rajesh from Tirupattur, was among hundreds of spectators who had gathered at the event.

The event saw bulls lined up in the scorching sun, even without drinking water, in violation of the standards for holding such an event. Organizers had taken over Netaji Road diverting traffic. Tokens were issued for ₹5,000 and up once again in violation of numerous caveats for running the race. The event comes following the Tamil Nadu government’s imposition of a ₹500 fine for flouting the mask rule in public places.

Livestock co-manager Rajendran initially denied there was a breach. When asked if there was an animal care committee on site, he said there was. However, when it was pointed out that the venue was overcrowded in complete violation of the standards set by the collector-led consultative meeting on Jallikatu and Erudhattamwith photographs of the event as visual evidence, Mr Rajendran said the assistant animal husbandry manager, Muralisanthanantham, was in charge of the event.

When contacted, Dr Muralisanthanantham said only one department was ill-equipped to carry out surveillance, although an animal care team with doctors was present. Asked about the inherent cruelty to animals, the official said the district administration gave permission for the event.

Attempts to contact collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy were unsuccessful.

An ABB FIA Formula E World Championship event that was scheduled for the July long weekend in Vancouver has been postponed.

One Stop Strategy Group Inc., the organizer of the single-seat electric vehicle motorsport championship, has “chosen to exercise its rights” under Vancouver’s hosting agreement and postpone the event to a future date. undetermined, the city said in a statement.

Last summer, city councilors voted unanimously to host a multi-day Formula E event in Vancouver, as well as a conference on climate change and sustainability.

Neither the city nor the OSS group provided a reason to postpone the event.

Asked to comment, OSS Group told CTV News that the “incredibly difficult decision” to report was made following “thorough consideration” with the city.

“Delivering a world-class event is of the utmost importance to the organization. We will communicate with ticket holders through ATPI, our ticketing partner, to advise their options,” the company said in an email. mail.

The City of Vancouver said it will continue to work with OSS Group in hopes of announcing a replacement date soon.

Organizers previously boasted that the Formula E race would bring $80 million in economic value and thousands of jobs to the city.

The last time a Formula E World Championship event came to Canada was the Montreal ePrix in 2017. Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante subsequently canceled Formula E events scheduled for 2018 and 2019, citing cost overruns and sponsorship issues.

green|spaces’ annual event, the Green Prix, transforms the UTC sports complex next to Engel Stadium on May 6 and 7 into a fully functioning racecourse. Take a good look – the racing cars and drivers might surprise you!

Sponsored by EPB, the event features 35 teams of Hamilton County students, ages 9-18, racing electric vehicles (EVs) that they designed and built themselves.

This hands-on STEM program depends on the help of teachers and parent coaches. Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of the students to design, build and test their electric vehicles. As a result, students complete the program with a fundamental understanding of electrical wiring and mechanics.

“The Green Award is not only a fun event, it’s also a key part of our regional workforce development needs,” said Michael Walton, CEO of green|spaces. “Students can graduate with eight years of hands-on experience in one of the highest-paying and fastest-growing industries in the world.”

“EPB is proud to sponsor the Green Award as part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles as the automotive industry accelerates the shift to electric vehicles,” said EPB’s Ken Jones, who is the outgoing chairman. of the board of directors of green|spaces. “Electric vehicles offer many benefits for our community as a whole. The adoption of electric vehicles supports local jobs and economic development in addition to environmental benefits. »

Additionally, students leave the program with honed communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Coach Kaitlyn Rhoden of Lookout Valley Elementary School agrees, “The best part of coaching is watching the kids learn to build, drive and present as a team. The excitement on race day is my favorite part, but most importantly, it’s amazing to see the students supporting each other.

In 2017, green|spaces worked with eight local elementary, middle and high schools to have students design and build GreenPower USA electric race cars. Now in more than 40 area schools, Green Prix combines STEM education with solving real-world problems and preparing the future workforce in a wide range of applicable careers.

Come cheer on the teams on May 6 and 7 at the UTC Sports Complex (500 O’Neal Street). The Green Prize is open to the public and free. Parking is on the grounds of the UT Erlanger family practice. Qualifying races begin at 1:50 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

In addition to EPB, the Lyndhurst Foundation, Fullgraf Foundation, Gestamp, Novonix, Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary, Greater Chattanooga Robotics (TN Valley), Chattanooga Sports, Rockridge Venture Law, University of Chattanooga Tennessee, and Harbor Freight help make the Green Prize a success. Additionally, the event could not have taken place without the direction and guidance of the Chattanooga Region Sports Car Club of America throughout the year.
