Ferrari racing event speeds up in

High performance GT racing returns to the north next week.

The Croft circuit, near Darlington, will host the inaugural weekend of the Pirelli Ferrari Club Competizione.

Described as “a celebration of all that is Italian”, the event hosted by the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain promises quick races from the club’s two championships, the classic Pirelli Ferrari formula and the Ferrari Club Racing Series.

The former covers a wide range of production models from Ferrari’s distinguished history, while the Ferrari Club Racing Series offers more recent Challenge racing variants – up to the 488 Challenge.

Club competitions will be supported by actions from the Alfa Romeo Championship and the Northern Saloon and Sportscar Championship.

Elsewhere in the circuit schedule there will be parade laps and static displays, Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic cars ranging from the 1970s to the 1990s and Challenge cars from the 2000s to the present day.

In the paddock there will be partner exhibitions and food and drink. Sunday morning, meanwhile, will see the arrival of the club’s GT Tour, plus a Gridwalk, and a chance to see the cars up close and meet the drivers.

Ferrari owners’ car shows on both days of the event are open to the public as well as club members and competitors, with a relaxed, family-friendly paddock atmosphere promised.

Everything takes place on the weekend from Saturday to Sunday June 26-27.

Tickets start from £ 15 per day with advance ticket reservations only through www.croftcircuit.co.uk. Early booking is recommended.
