Hot Wheels Vintage Racing Line not for children
The holiday season is fast approaching, and that means it’s time to loosen the purse strings and shop for gifts for friends and family. And if your spouse insists on giving your nephew a new outfit, you can still maintain your status as a cool aunt or uncle by throwing a few Hot Wheels in the box with this crappy school clothes gift. But as the recipients get older, it becomes harder and harder to spruce up the gift bag for a few dollars. That is, of course, unless someone special is into vintage racing cars.
If so, Hemmings has the scoop on some nifty new Hot Wheels with a decidedly retro twist. The 2011 Hot Wheels Vintage Racing lineup includes the Pro Stock, Trans AM and NASCAR vehicles of yesteryear. According to Hemmings, Pro Stock miniatures will include “Dick Landy and Shirley Shahan’s Hemi Darts, Dick Landy’s Challenger ’70, Dave Strickler’s Camaro RS ’70, a Sox & Martin Duster ’73, and more; the Brigade Trans-Am will feature Dan Gurney’s ’68 Cougar, AJ Foyt’s ’65 Mustang, George Follmer’s # 16 ’70 Boss 302 and an AAR Cuda. ”
Sounds like the perfect gift for the man with a desk but not enough clutter on his desk. Now, if we can only persuade Hot Wheels to make more production and exotic sports cars without the boring stickers, ridiculous wheels, or garish fenders, we might be really excited.
