Jade Edwards completes BTC Racing line-up for 2021 season

Jade edwards will enter his first full season in the British Touring Car Championship after being confirmed as a third driver for BTC races get a “dream deal” in the process.

Edwards will team up with Josh cook and Michael cris in the Honda Civic Type R FK8 also becoming the first female pilot to embark for the first time since 2007 in a full season in BTCC.

Last year, the Northampton-based driver made her championship debut at the wheel of the Maximum running power Opel astra as one of their guest drivers and impressed with two of the three finishes showing good pace in the process.

Coming from a family of runners, she will follow in her father’s footsteps Jim edwards jnr, former class winner at BTCC as well as grandfather Jim Edwards Snr after having already participated in the Renault Clio Cup of the United Kingdom finish seventh overall in 2019.

In addition to the Clio Cup, Edwards also participated in the British GT Championship and Aston Martin GT4 Challenge and can’t wait to seize the opportunity that she has admitted to presenting itself for some time.

“For anyone who watched my first BTCC weekend last year, they will know this is something that I have worked really hard on for a long time. While for Steve dudman, team principal and owner of BTC Racing is happy to give Edwards the opportunity and believes that alongside Cook and Crees they have one of the best rosters on the grid for the new season.
