Porsche is developing a special-edition race car to mark Manthey’s 25th anniversary
Porsche will only manufacture 30 examples of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 Anniversary Edition.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Manthey-Racing GmbH, Porsche Motorsport has developed a special edition of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 model. Designed specifically for the race tracks, this car is based on the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport.
Porsche shares that the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 adopts many components and vehicle elements from familiar and future Porsche racing cars. Under the hood, a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine is capable of producing 691 horsepower. The car’s power is transferred to its rear wheels via a seven-speed Porsche dual-clutch (PDK) gearbox. The automaker also informs that the inspiration for the special-edition vehicle came from Manthey’s 911 GT3 R, which was affectionately called “Grello” by Nürburgring fans for its distinctive green and yellow livery.

The vehicle is equipped with a central radiator which provides constant and optimal airflow to the engine, helping it to maintain a stable temperature over a wide range of speeds. The repositioning of the radiator also provides better protection against collision damage, adds Porsche. The 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 is also fitted with 18-inch central locking wheels. The rear wing has new side plates and gooseneck support brackets, which also ensures uninterrupted flow. With quad strip headlights and an edition badge, the car comes with a welded roll cage inside. It was taken over from the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport and also complies with FIA standards.

GT Racing Cars Director Matthias Scholz shares that Porsche Motorsport and Manthey have won numerous races and championships since the team was founded 25 years ago. “Since 2013, the two companies have been closely linked. With the unique 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 special edition, this successful partnership has been taken to the next level,” he adds.
Porsche plans to manufacture just 30 units of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 special edition.
