WATCH: Bubba Wallace Wins iRacing Event in New NASCAR 23XI Race Car at Bristol Dirt Track

Recently, Bubba Wallace competed in an iRacing event on the dirt course at Bristol Motor Speedway. It turns out that his race engineer JR Houston invited him to his racing league to train. To make things even better, Wallace raced around the track in a mod that had his 23XI Racing car.

Obviously, the mod also included the tracks from the 2021 Cup series. Suffice to say that it will be a perfect training for the African-American pilot. It also helped that he won the Bristol dirt race in the 23XI Racing car.

With that, Wallace kills two birds with one stone as he trains on clay and also gets used to his future car.

How ready is Bubba Wallace to take on the dirt track?

Considering he grew up racing dirt bikes near Charlotte, Wallace has some experience under his belt. That probably explains why he was so fast in the iRacing event and won the race. However, online racing and the real deal are two opposite ends of the pole.

Also, Bubba Wallace didn’t properly test his new car. Although online racing can’t do much to get Wallace used to the car, it does help a bit, and the driver should use the Busch Clash as a test to gauge the condition of the car.

Additionally, he can also see where he and the team stand in the pecking order. Without testing on the maps, each driver must race and get to know their new car, simultaneously.

For a driver in a new team, this could be quite difficult, as there is no basis for comparison with previous seasons.

Fortunately, Bubba Wallace brings a wealth of experience to 23XI Racing. Co-owner Denny Hamlin may also participate from time to time.
